Agent Not Responding

If your AI agent is not answering calls, not making outbound calls, or going silent during a conversation, use this guide to find and fix the issue.


Agent Not Making Outbound Calls

Check these:

  • Is the campaign Active? Go to Dashboard → Campaigns and check the campaign status
  • Is the agent assigned to the campaign? Open the campaign and confirm an agent is selected
  • Are there contacts in the campaign? Check the contacts tab inside the campaign
  • Does your account have enough credits? Go to Dashboard → Billing — if credits are zero, calls will not go out. Top up from Dashboard → Top Up Credits
  • Is the schedule set correctly? Calls only go out at the time you configured

Agent Not Answering Inbound Calls

Check these:

  • Is the phone number assigned to the agent? Go to Dashboard → Phone Numbers and confirm the number is linked to the correct agent
  • Is the agent published? Go to Dashboard → Agents → Your Agent and check its status
  • Is the agent's business hours setting restricting calls? Check the hours configuration in the agent settings

Agent Goes Silent Mid-Call

Check these:

  • Review the agent's instructions — if the instructions are unclear or incomplete, the agent may not know how to respond in certain situations
  • Go to Dashboard → Agents → Your Agent and update the instructions to cover the scenario that caused the silence
  • Use Test Call to simulate the conversation and see how the agent handles it

Agent Gives Wrong or Irrelevant Responses

Check these:

  • Review the agent's instructions — are they clear and specific enough?
  • Use Test Call in Dashboard → Agents to test how the agent handles different questions
  • Update the instructions and test again until the responses are correct
